Jerrell Harris 2008 Recruiting Bio
Most of the time, the Alabama Crimson Tide win the in state recruiting battle over the Auburn Tigers. Unfortunately for the Tide, lately that hasn’t mean a whole heckuva lot when it comes to the contest that matters: The Iron Bowl. Maybe that has something to do with the stability the Tigers have enjoyed from their head coach Tommy Tuberville; perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Auburn does a very good job recruiting out of state. Regardless, it’s a fact. Now let’s see which one gets Harris, if either.
Jerrell Harris is a 6-foot-2, 220 pound four star outside linebacker from Gadsden, Alabama (Gadsden City High School). The measurables are quite impressive when it comes to this state of Alabama standout.
We’re talking a 280 pound bench press, 500 pound squat, 4.5 second 40 yard dash, and a 34 inch vertical leap. Yep, none of those are misprints. In fact, Harris is so darned athletic that he’s considered the best athlete of all the linebacker prospects in the nation, period.
Not necessarily the best linebacker recruit, mind you; but the best athlete that plays linebacker in the 2008 class.
Beyond the aforementioned, Harris put up 125 tackles last season in high school. So he’s been productive as well; and all of this managed to land him at number 76 on the 2008 Rivals 100. Just for grins, he’s also considered the seventh best outside linebacker in the nation, and the eighth best player coming out of the state of Alabama.
Obviously, a man with Jerrell Harris’s many talents has garnered significant interest from a bunch of teams. Interestingly, he has yet to commit to any program on his list. Speaking of the teams he’s interested in, how about the Alabama Crimson Tide (shocker, huh?), Auburn Tigers (another shocker for a big time Alabama prospect), Clemson Tigers, Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, LSU Tigers, Southern California Trojans, and Tennessee Volunteers.
Jerrell Harris is going to make some college football head coach very happy.
